How can we prevent accidents as pedestrians?

As a pedestrian, you can prevent an accident with a car by being aware of your surroundings. You don’t want to be on your headphones because as a pedestrian, because they will inhibit your ability to hear an oncoming car. You should also keep your cell phone in your pocket or purse. Texting and talking can be distracting, both mentally and visually. Just like drivers need to be defensive, pedestrians need to be defensive as well.

Look out for yourself and assume that cars are going to be driving poorly. Don’t assume that just because you’re a pedestrian and you have the right of way at the crosswalk that a car is going to see you and stop. If you are injured as a pedestrian in an accident, please give us a call at Stein Law and don’t delay so that we can get right to work on your case.
