Nicholas F. Stein

Founder | Attorney

Nicholas F. Stein is a lifelong resident of New Albany, Indiana and the founder of Stein Law. For more than two decades, Nick has built a reputation for personal attention, ethical advocacy, and results-driven representation rooted in deep local knowledge of Southern Indiana.

Nick’s path into law was shaped by service and a desire to make a meaningful difference. After graduating from Indiana University, he joined the U.S. Army and served as a medic in Germany for three years. Using the GI Bill, he earned his law degree from the University of Louisville and returned home to begin a career dedicated to serving the people of his community.

Nick was elected Prosecuting Attorney for Floyd County and served on the Ethics Committee of the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Association. After years of courtroom experience, he devoted his full-time practice to representing injured clients and families facing life-altering losses.

Over the course of his career, Nick has represented thousands of people in serious injury cases. He has handled complex litigation at the highest levels, including a successful oral argument before the Indiana Supreme Court in Mayhue vs. Sparkman (1995), which helped clarify the law surrounding “loss of chance.” His trial experience includes serving as first chair in a case resulting in a $4,000,000 verdict.

Nick’s leadership has helped Stein Law grow into a boutique, multi-practice firm trusted across Floyd, Clark, and Harrison counties, offering “small firm service, big firm results” while remaining grounded in community.
